Creative New Zealand, Te Māngai Pāho and the New Zealand Music Commission in collaboration with Letsplay.Live present Aotearoa NZ @ SXSW Sydney, a three-day activation based at Rouge Sydney focused on creations and innovations that share the unique cultures and voices of Aotearoa New Zealand across music, screen, tech and gaming.

Opening with performances from kapa haka group Angitu. Aotearoa @ SXSW Sydney will continue to feature contemporary indigenous culture from New Zealand throughout the programme with panel discussions from Māori creatives across gaming, screen production and music in addition to a huge music lineup featuring some of the most exciting emerging and established talent Aotearoa has to offer.
Program highlights:
• Performances by leading kapa haka group Angitu
• The New Zealand Gaming Panel- embracing indigenous Māori to accelerate the sector
• The first ever Australia v. NZ indigenous esport test match supported and broadcast live by Letsplay.Live
• Panel: Aotearoa NZ Indigenous led Education Technology
• Māori Content Producer’s Series
• In Conversation: Songs, Stories, Sync, Screen with Concord Music Publishing
• IMNZ (Independent Music New Zealand) Breakfast
• Panel: Revitalising the Maori language through waiata (song), followed by a live showcase
