The Nanobots are Coming (and That's a Good Thing): Radical Optimism for Life in 2050

Climate change, food insecurity, pandemics and all in the context of an aging population – there doesn’t seem to be much to look forward to in 2050. This panel will challenge dystopian projections of our shared future and instead present one of radical optimism. We are three young synthetic biology, nanoscience, and bioengineering researchers working on novel solutions to secure our food supply and manage health and disease – from nanorobots to stem cells. We also take our responsibility as science communicators seriously and are united in a vision of accessible science. In this panel, we will share our exciting research and discuss the ways in which we can all access exciting innovations to transform our lives. Join us as we peel back the curtain on the scientific process through an inspiring panel discussion and invite you to learn more about our research and how it is contributing to our own radical optimism – evidence-informed hope for a better future. We’ll set out our vision for a world where everyone feels ownership of innovations and the scientific endeavour and invite you to join us on our mission to realise it by 2050.
