How Can Cultural and Creative Industries Stimulate Innovation and Drive Inclusive Sustainable Growth?

How can cultural and creative industries (CCIs) stimulate innovation and drive inclusive sustainable growth?

Explore the future of CCIs
The world we live in is a sandbox.
We create, we play, we build projects and startups, and we iterate.
We learn from what we absorb.
Sometimes we fail but we always build back better – and we thrive.
Can we do it in the pursuit of Innovation and Growth in a positive way?

French Tech Australia is inviting you in hearing about the Australian and French Entrepreneurial Communities and their success stories in the Creative and Cultural worlds - think about the latest innovation in these worlds from both the north and south hemispheres, and how they see their future.

Tomorrows Metaverse: A Glimpse Into Life in 2033

THU, OCT 19, 11:30 AM
Conference
A time-capsule from the future has accidentally been transported 10 years into the past. Only 4 people have been lucky enough to glimpse it before it was unexpectedly returned to its actual timeline. Fortunately, these people all work in related ‘future-focused’ sectors and while they did not get enough time to view all the material in the capsule, they have put their collective knowledge to use to fill in the blanks. Join us for a lively panel discussion that takes us through a day in the life of a metaverse-entrenched citizen living in 2033. Starting from the first moments of the morning through to the end of the day, we will get a fascinating view into the future of how the Metaverse has manifested itself in just 10 years' time. How they work, live, socialise and entertain themselves in this new world that is just over the horizon.

Xanadu: The City of 2050 is a Pleasure Garden

WED, OCT 18, 2:30 PM
Conference
The city of 2050 is emphatically not a place of work: it is a place of play. A place to relax, to enjoy, to explore and to spend. Yes, we may still commute there for work as needed - when the team needs to get together to ‘con-spire’. The rest of the time, our urban cores offer themselves as centres of pure enjoyment. How can we rethink urban living and turn our cities into pleasure gardens? Our amazing panellists each take us on their own ‘walking tour’ of this city of 2050, a Garden of Earthly Delights, where people are instinctively drawn for almost the precise opposite of any of the reasons they visit cities today. We invite the audience to contribute their own designs and imaginations for our city of 2050 - because a shared delight is better than a secret one.
We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of this land we now call Sydney, where this event will take place. We pay our respects to their continuing connection with cultural, spiritual and educational practices, and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Always was, always will be.
