WhiteGrey: Elevating accessibility with Dylan Alcott

When diverse perspectives collide, we make unexpected and extraordinary discoveries.

Yet those with the lived experience of a disability (one in six Australians) haven’t always been included in the conversation.

Join Dylan Alcott, former Australian of the Year and founder of disability inclusion consultancy Get Skilled Access, alongside special guests in a discussion with Lee Simpson, Chief Executive Officer of whiteGREY Australia, on how accessibility is unleashing creativity – in ways that could benefit us all.

We’ll explore emerging and unexpected thinking with the potential to reshape how we experience culture in a more accessible world.

See what happens when creative technologists, industry experts and those with lived experience of disability explore the collision of diverse ideas and inspiration.

This is an open house session. Open House sessions are open to all, however capacity is limited so guests will be seated on a first come, first serve basis. For an invite to this session contact Justine Leong, Justine.Leong@whitegrey.com.au

When Chloé Hayden appeared around the world on Netflix’s rebooted Heartbreak High series as autistic character Quinnie, many neurodivergent people were finally getting to see themselves represented onscreen. That authentic representation is partly because Hayden, who is autistic and ADHD, not only starred as Quinnie but helped create the character. As the industry pushes to ensure what we see on screens is reflective of the Australian population, how do we ensure film and television sets are safe and inclusive for cast and crew alike? Hear from Hayden alongside Australian Paralympian, speaker and aspiring actor Dylan Alcott AO; This is Going to be Big producer and Fremantle Australia Head of Unscripted Josie Mason Campbell; and Bus Stop Employment General Manager Sarah Jane Johnson as they speak to recent experiences in the Australian screen industry, best practices and the path forward. Moderated by Paul Nunnari.
