Preparing for an Electric and Autonomous Future

FRI, OCT 20, 1:00 PM
Conference
Today, your average vehicle has over 100M lines of code. Tens of millions more than an F-23 Joint Fight Striker. By 2030, vehicles will have over 300M lines of code. The Software-Defined-Vehicle (SDV) is the primary building block for the electrified, computerized, cloud-connected future of transportation. SDVs will transform road travel, and public and industrial transportation, as we know it. They will also change how we produce and consume energy, as electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure adoption rapidly advances to meet de-carbonisation goals. However, in the race for connected transport, building consumer trust when it comes to safety and security is just as important as building the technology itself - especially when it comes to self-driving vehicles. So, if cars today already have more code than a fighter jet, what is in store for us in the future as our vehicles electrify and require less human input when driving? And how can we help people trust those technologies, and the companies that build them, to keep our families - and our data - safe and secure? This talk will explore the impact of SDVs, electrification and self-driving on society and business - and how we can be better prepared for the future.
