Velvet Trip

Velvet Trip is the psychedelic music project of Clayton Allen and Wiradjuri man Zeppelin Hamilton, conceived and imagined on Gadigal Country, Sydney.

VT’s first E.P., ‘Velvet Trip & The Six Moon Skies’ was the serendipitous result of a brief encounter between Hamilton and Allen at an inner-west house party.
Hamilton had some songs and Allen played drums so they booked a studio on the fly and recorded a live session with friends - Sinj Clarke on keys and Nick Savvas on bass.

Whilst playing multiple sold-out tours across Australia’s east coast and landing features in publications like RUSSH magazine and NME; VT were also working on new material and exploring ways to push their sound beyond their blues origins.
Written and produced within the confines of Hamilton's laptop and performed live with interchanging members - VT is an ever-evolving entity moving in unexpected directions.
Throughout 2021-2022 they notably performed at the opera house alongside Wiradjuri poet Jazz Money, featured on the ABC program ‘Going Country’ with Emily Wurramara and gained recognition from Fender.

With no sign of slowing down, VT exposed a new sonic territory as their 2022 release of psych-rock single ‘Its Only Human’ was swiftly added to numerous editorial playlists on Spotify and garnered support from Triple J.

VT grabbed the attention of Daft Punk collaborators, Parcels and were offered a national support slot for their entire run of sold-out Australian shows at iconic venues such as The Enmore, The Forum and The Tivoli.

‘Moving On’ is the 2023 follow-up single unveiled by VT and is described by Hamilton as his mantra for positivity and growth.

‘When you feel things become stagnant in your life and you are bound by old ideas, identities or relationships that no longer serve you... It’s okay to let go and move on.
I wanted to capture that feeling of euphoria experienced when you break through the other side of an internal conflict.

Velvet Trip will be touring ‘Moving On’ across the East Coast of Australia throughout April.
