Creative Industries Meet Up
Creative Industries Meet Up
As we ride the wave of technology-driven art forms, creatives crave community and the chance to interact face-to-face with their peers away from the screen.
Come and meet up with other creatives to socialise and discuss current trends and ideas, in a friendly and intimate setting. We invite creatives from all industries: tech, design, visual arts, music, literature, performance – you name it!
While the online world offers plenty of socialising, it also comes with a lot of self-promotion, disingenuous interactions and even exploitation. It is more important than ever to create safe and nourishing spaces for like-minded creatives, harkening back to core community values and ethics.
Present will be Sugar Glider Digital founder, Emilya Colliver, who can answer your questions on collaborating across industries, entrepreneurship, contracts, payment, and more. This will be a space for knowledge sharing, connecting and inspiring each other to positively shape the future of creativity.
We encourage digital artists to ask practical questions about contracts, payment and more through a guided Q&A session. This will be a space for knowledge sharing, connecting and inspiring each other to positively shape the future of digital art.
Attendees will form a sense of community and connection with each other over the shared practice of and interest in digital art forms. Through creating a space headlined by the themes of community and ethics, we hope to create a meaningful and inviting environment to mingle and connect with like-minded individuals.

The Digital & Immersive Future of the Arts: How and Why we Need to Get There
THU, OCT 19, 2:30 PM
Conference
The year is 2050. Do we still think AI is inherently bad, or are we collaborating with it to make art, write screenplays and compose scores? Will art curators become redundant? What does ‘digital’ art look like today? Is immersive art still interesting? How has technology transformed our experience of arts and culture?
Technology has always been a crucial part of how humans live, work and create. So too, the history and the future of the arts is guided by the hand of technology.
Starting with the place of digital art in the traditional cannon, we will explore what the future of the arts is. We will consider the huge potential impacts of digital and immersive art to increase wellness, inclusivity and engage communities through the combined forces of human creativity and technology.
Are we on the correct path to unlocking the potential of technology and the arts? We unpack the importance of skilful curation, openness to experimentation, and public support for arts education and programs. Featuring speakers with varied expertise, we will deliberate what is on the digital horizon and how to get there.
