Whilst sport is bursting at the seams with all the options you could want, brimming with improvements to ensure high performance using the latest and greatest of everything, the places where we play are, well, … pretty lazy- places that would be described as monoculture, resource intensive, singularly minded, & to serve only the few. So how do we bend, stretch, contort, push and reconstruct sport spaces to be more, to give more, to contribute more to the health and vibrancy of our {biodiverse} communities? In this session, a former Lord Mayor who happens to be an urban designer genius, a Big Biodiversity Boss Brain, and a failed football star will unpack and reimagine the places where we play to be more like a “tree in the forest” – giving more than it takes so it can be better allies to our natural world- and the best of team mates.
