After Dark - A SXSW Sydney Unconference

Presented by AfterWork Ventures, AFTER DARK - A SXSW UNCONFERENCE is an experience co-created by participants.

After DAY THREE of SXSW Sydney, we invite you to step into the soulful Abercrombie Hotel for a night of creativity, serendipity, and open-hearted connection.

Every aspect of the evening has been engineered to maximise full-belly laughter, refreshing honesty, and the discovery of unexpected common ground.

AFTER DARK will run from 5pm - 8pm, and is followed by a DJ showcase presented by Untitled Music. All AFTER DARK attendees are welcome to attend the showcase and join us on the dance floor at 9pm.

Hearty dinner will be served, including steaming trays of toasted paninis and woodfired pizza.

AFTER HOURS (5:45pm - 6:45pm)
AFTER HOURS is a standup comedy segment featuring trailblazing local talent - Jenny Tian, Maddy Weeks, and Mould Control - an improv troupe featuring Jayce Carrano, Jestika Chand, and Georgie Pender!
But wait - there’s more! After these three acts have you in stitches, our STARTUP STANDUP SHOW will feature debut performances from some familiar faces in the tech and startup ecosystem.

Cheer on your favourite founders, operators, angels, and VCs as they try their hand at standup for the first time! Line up to be announced.
AFTERWARDS (7:15pm - 8:00pm)

Presented in collaboration with Fuck Up Nights, AFTERWARDS debunks startup folklore.
Many founding myths are presented as linear narratives - hero’s journeys decorated with auspicious milestones, slain incumbents, adoring customers, and glitzy magazine photoshoots.
Instead, our lineup of speakers reflect on the twists and turns of startup journeys - the mistakes, the pivots, the gut-wrenching decisions, the heartbreak, the absurd and the sublime.
Line up to be announced.
AND MORE…

Expect more quirky activities, installations, and special guests to be announced over the coming month!
