In an era where technology holds the power to transform every facet of our world, Action Audio is redefining the sports broadcast experience at scale.

Originally developed by AKQA and Tennis Australia, Action Audio’s immersive sound experience provides a previously unreachable level of accessibility, allowing fans to engage with every thrilling moment on the court.

Through the 2023 NBA Launchpad program, Action Audio is aiming to transcend the visual boundaries of basketball and facilitate an inclusive game experience that resonates with fans of all visual abilities.

Tim Devine, Executive Innovation Director, AKQA

A techno-ecologist, artist and innovation leader with a strong focus on collaboration, Devine specialises in the application of design, technology and science to make the world a more respectful, inclusive and regenerative place.
Believing we urgently need to create new business practices, public policies and individual behaviours that improve the chances of us transitioning to a regenerative system. One that is planet-centred, with positive feedback loops between different parts of society so that everything we do enables life to thrive.
His work has received numerous accolades globally including an Honourable Mention in the Prix Ars Electronica for the Code of Conscience, winner of Fast Companies World Changing Ideas, Australia’s Most Innovative Company, enabling AKQA Australia to be the most awarded Australian studio at Cannes Lions 2021 as well as D&AD Pencils, Webby’s and Clio’s, all attributing to Tims commitment to diversity and inclusion, sustainability and the environment, social impact and public service.
