Dr Anusuya Willis is a phycologist who uses molecular biology and physiology to research algae diversity. Leading research at the Australian National Algae Culture Collection at CSIRO, Anusuya combines her expertise in phylogenetics, genomics, physiology and ecology to study a vast array of algae, including harmful cyanobacteria and giant kelp restoration. Her research delves into understanding Australia's unique algae, improving the collection, and applying algae to industry.
