Teddy Dief is an award-winning independent game designer & director based in Los Angeles & Tokyo. They co-designed bestselling RPG Hyper Light Drifter, and directed the Peabody-winning videogame + pop music project OFK. Teddy was Formerly Creative Director at Square Enix Montréal, game designer at Disney & Xbox, and game narrative researcher at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Co-founder of interactive artist collective Glitch City. Teddy’s independent games work has garnered honors from The Peabody Awards, The Game Awards, Independent Games Festival, Game Developers Choice Awards, BAFTA & more. They speak about games & storytelling around the world at events including the Game Developers Conference, PAX, GDC China, Gamescom Brasil, IndieCade, Pixelatl, & Melbourne International Games Week, and perform in concert as lead vocalist for the OFK pop group. They have been featured in publications such as NME, The Verge, Engadget, Polygon, SPIN, Forbes, Vice, Polygon & Rolling Stone. Teddy hosts and produces events such as the Chocobowl charity livestream, IndieCade Innovation Awards, and Idle Thumbs Playscape podcast, and promotes the healthy development of games as an artform for human expression and shared experience.
