Daley Pearson is a multi Emmy®, AACTA and Logie Award winning producer, creator and co-founder and director at Ludo Studio. Pearson is Executive Producer on the BAFTA and Emmy winning series, Bluey (ABC TV, Disney) which is the most watched show in ABC TV history and the most watched series on Disney + globally. Pearson also Executive Produced the AACTA Award winning drama series Robbie Hood (SBS) and was showrunner on the Rose d'Or winning and Emmy nominated series, Content (ABC TV) and The Strange Chores for ABC TV. Sydney Morning Herald said, 'Robbie Hood is the most perfect piece of TV you’ll see this year'. Content was named in Junkee's '40 shows and recently won a Rose D’ or an Emmy nomination. While Bluey recently became the No.1 most watched acquired show in the US. Pearson also created the concept for Danny and Michael Philippou's horror feature, Talk to Me, releasing globally in 2023 with A24. Pearson also plays Thor's room-mate, Darryl, with Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum in Taika Waititi's ‘Team Thor' and 'Team Darryl’ comedy series for Marvel Studios.

Audiences eat up (pun intended) the horror genre. There is something about tapping into our deep-seated fear for what lurks in the dark. It is our primal need and as the screen industry recalibrates post pandemic, audiences are hungrier than ever for the genre, with Australian projects and filmmakers leading the charge. Hear from some of these leading horror directors about what draws them to the genre, how they build story within it and as a genre that is forever shape shifting, where to next for themselves and the genre.
