Decarbonising Flight: The How, When and Where of Green Aviation and eVTOLs

FRI, OCT 20, 11:00 AM
Conference
New technology promises to let us fly guilt-free in electric aircraft that produce zero emissions. So-called Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft offer transformative options in mobility and logistics; new market opportunities in regional air travel; regional economic regeneration; and new sovereign industrial capabilities in sustainable transport tech. But when, how and where will eVTOLs take to our skies, how safe will they be, and when will the benefits come? Learn from a diverse panel of experts on everything from the basics of how eVTOLs work and why they are so efficient, to their potential positive impact on climate change and if, and when, we will all be riding the skyways around and between our cities, like The Jetsons. Discover eVTOLs’ first use cases: such as saving flying doctors critical time (and money) getting patients to hospitals. Hear how eVTOLs could help to overcome the tyranny of distance - and what types of education are needed to explain these new technologies, including hydrogen fuel cells, to both urban and remote communities. This will be a fascinating conversation - grounded in reality - between four passionate experts, giving the hype-free truth about the most exciting change in aviation technology for generations.
We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of this land we now call Sydney, where this event will take place. We pay our respects to their continuing connection with cultural, spiritual and educational practices, and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Always was, always will be.
