Michelle Battersby

Sunroom co-founder + CMO

Michelle Battersby is co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Sunroom – a creator app for women and non-binary creators to make money, share freely and connect intimately with their communities. Sunroom is the culmination of Battersby’s experiences operating at the forefront of technology, marketing and community-led brands. After getting her start aged 22 as a Human Resources Manager, it didn’t take long for Michelle to seek out something more purpose-led. In 2016, after one conversation with Bumble's founder, Whitney Wolfe Herd, Michelle quit her job at PWC and started the daunting task of launching a company in a new country as Bumble's AU Country Lead. Battersby launched the social networking platform in Australia in 2016 to dizzying success, securing over 3 million registered downloads in Australia and went on to become the Director of Marketing for APAC. In November 2019, Battersby took on the role of CMO at fast-growing health and wellness app Keep It Cleaner, where she led the team to implement a brand relaunch in the middle of 2020, which included a complete rebuild of the app.

Sex, Wellness and the Big Pleasure Gap

THU, OCT 19, 11:00 AM
Conference
Studies show that women experience less sexual pleasure than men. So what can we do to help close the pleasure gap for women and non-gender conforming people? How will technology help achieve this? And what role do brands, content creators and the media play in promoting the role of sexual wellbeing in the broader conversation about health and wellness? In this panel, Head of Brand at Adore Beauty Chelsea Healey, co-founder and CMO and Sunroom Michelle Battersby, and founder of LBDO Rachel Baker aim to address these questions and more in conversation with media personality and CEO Flex Mami, sparking debate about just how connected sex, culture and self-care really are in 2023.
