About
Associate Professor Kiley Seymour is a neuroscientist, with international expertise in ultra-high field brain imaging. Her research pioneered the use of machine learning algorithms to decode mental states from brain data. Her current work examines the effects of technology on human behaviour and brain function with a particular focus on neurotech and mental privacy. Kiley is Ethics Chair for Experimental Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of scientific research, the protection of personal data, and the ensuring the ethical and responsible use and development of technology. She is an executive member of the Australian arm of the International Organization for Human Brain Mapping and sees Australia as having a unique capacity to lead the advancement of neurotechnology with privacy embedded into its design.
