Innovators in Augmented & Virtual Reality Meet-Up
WED, OCT 18, 12:30 PM
Conference
Meet a community of innovators creating exciting, new applications for mixed reality. Hosted by senior scientists from CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency and innovation catalyst, this Meet Up kicks off with a short ‘lightning talk’ session, in which up to ~10 presenters have 1 minute each to pitch their innovation. These presenters are chosen to represent the broad diversity of XR developers and creators working at Australian companies and institutions — including Contxtual, EmersivAR, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, MOD studios, Start Beyond, the University of Sydney, and UNSW.
The showcased applications will span computer science, engineering, molecular biology, medicine, art, architecture, and design, as well as innovative and inspiring uses of XR for story-telling.
Following the lightning talks, the main part of the Meet Up is dedicated to a relaxed networking/mixer-style event, where participants can connect with XR innovators and get direct, hands-on experience with these XR applications. In addition to the applications presented in the lightning talks, we will provide opportunities for other innovators to set up and demonstrate their XR solutions (space permitting).
The Meet Up is an opportunity to seek out inspiration, connect informally, and find collaboration opportunities.
