Tim is the Head of Foundation for pioneering health-tech firm Harrison.AI. Prior to Harrison AI, Tim was Chief of Staff to former CEO of World Vision Australia, Tim Costello AO and led global engagement for USD $2 billion impact investment firm, LeapFrog Investments.

Tim was a co-founder of social impact engagement studio, Agency which worked to bring for-purpose engagement into the digital era. With offices in Sydney and New York, Agency served hundreds of impact-led organisations, helping to facilitate notable moments such as the United Nations MyWorld campaign which garnered 7.7 million submissions globally. Agency was named international New Agency of the Year in 2015, a Westpac’s Businesses Of Tomorrow and a Gruen Pitch winner in 2017.

Tim is also co-founder of Ripple, the platform that is equipping young Australians to use their agency to shape the future. In 2021, every 8 minutes a young person discovered a new opportunity for impact through Ripple. Tim also sits on the Board of the global impact accelerator, ygap and is the Chair of its People, Culture and Nominations Committee. In 2019 he was named in the inaugural cohort of Obama Foundation Leaders for Asia Pacific.

This session will explore the current interplay of profitability, and the development of responsible and impactful tech within the tech industry. It will also discuss the upward trend of incorporating impact into most technology companies’ missions and how we can ensure that this is a long-term shift in course. Current responsible tech-related strategies our speakers will touch on include holistic impact measurement strategies and subsidiary foundations. Trends that our speakers can speak to are the rise of impact-focussed technology investments, the lobbying of policy changes designed to mitigate technology-exacerbated social harm and development of open-source community technology.
