About
With over 20 years of experience in environmental science and oceanography, I am passionate about finding innovative solutions to tackle plastic pollution and create a more sustainable future. As a co-founder at Uluu, I am leading the production of a natural material derived from oceans that is climate positive, home compostable, and able to replace plastics at scale. I believe that Uluu's mission aligns with my values and goals, and that I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as well as a strong scientific background and a global network of collaborators and partners. In my previous role as a research fellow at The University of Western Australia, I designed, advertised, and delivered UWA's first micro-credential on tackling plastic pollution, attracting 35 new students to the university. I also led outreach activities for programs such as Science Week and PEAC, engaging with primary school students and the wider community on marine science topics. Additionally, I published science articles in scientific journals and media outlets, and worked for global non-profit organizations dedicated to reducing plastic waste: The Ocean Cleanup (Netherlands), Minderoo (Australia) and Common Seas (Indonesia). She leverages her skills in environmental awareness, field work, data analysis, communication, and education to contribute to these projects and initiatives.
