Barbara Stephen

CEO, Flying Bark Productions

Barbara is the President and CEO of Flying Bark Productions, Australia’s largest independent kids and family based production company. In 2022, the company launched “After Bark”, a new division focused on creating feel-good content for older audiences. Barbara has led Flying Bark since 2014 growing from 60 to over 350 employees worldwide in studios located in Sydney and Los Angeles producing titles including Marvel’s “What If…?” and the 100% Wolf franchise spanning 2 films and 2 television series. She currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the UTS School of Communications, and as a member of the NSW Department of Education Creative Animation and Digital Reference Group.  

Prior to moving into kids and family entertainment, Barbara worked as a producer in light entertainment programming. Barbara served as the Screen Producers Association’s Vice President for 2 years in 2019 and 2020. Barbara has significant experience in selling, financing and producing large budget television programming for clients including Disney, Netflix and Paramount and is a recipient of the NSW Women in International Business Award.
