Nerissa’s career in visual effects and production spans over 20 years, starting with a nine-year tenure at Animal Logic in Sydney and later in Los Angeles. After returning home to Sydney in 2011, Nerissa took her years of experience working in a high-end animation & VFX environment and utilized this at the front end of production which she did for seven years while at the same time, in 2013, co-founding Studio Blackbird.
 
With extensive experience in production and VFX, Nerissa combines a strategic and entrepreneurial outlook, deeply understanding the challenges and goals of both major international studios and small, local enterprises like her own. An ardent believer in Australian talent and industry, she is dedicated to elevating Australian talent on the global stage. Serving as an Ausfilm board member for five years, she is a passionate advocate for the Australian screen industry, demonstrating her commitment to its success and growth.
